Ok, so I've been slacking and not updating our website. We have been very busy in our fundraising campaign as you can tell from the stats page. We were so excited to receive a corporate sponsorship from our employer, Structure Consulting Group, in the amount of $6,200!!! That is half of our minimum fundraising goal! We were also fortunate to receive the pledge of our company's realtor in the amount of $0.10 per rentable square foot for the additional space our company is currently working to secure. This will about to $450, and he is donating $100 on top of that amount. But that is not all, he also challenged the construction company and property management company to match his donation- and THEY DID!! In fact, property management exceeded the challenge and contributed $1000!! We truly appreciate the efforts of Jay Bonano of Trione Gordon in helping us reach our financial goals!! We are still hoping that the architect firm we are using will join the challenge, but we have not gotten a response as of yet.
On the training front, we have been running approximately 4 nights a week, taking Sunday and Friday off since Saturday is our long run day. Last weekend, we completed 10 miles on Saturday and then took part in the Jingle Bell Run on Sunday (5 miles). It was a lot of fun, and Batch finished in 40 minutes!! We were both in agreement that there is a definite difference between training for long distances and training for shorter races.
Well, I guess that's about all for now. We are staying in Houston for the holidays, so we should be able to maintain our normal training schedule. Merry Christmas!!
